Statement: Patricia Armstrong is a botanist, naturalist, environmentalist, educator, consultant on natural landscaping as Prairie Sun Consultants, co-founder and officer of the Greater DuPage Chapter of the Wild Ones Natural Landscapers, and has received awards and recognition from too many organizations and groups to mention here for her work for ecology and natural landscaping. She has worked for the Morton Arboretum, where she was a significant contributor to the Schulenburg Prairie, and she has taught many through most recently the College of DuPage. She has traveled to many natural places in the world so has an international understanding of ecological issues, and has been influential in getting ordinances revised to allow natural landscaping. She has a solar powered home with a green roof and she drives a hybrid car, so she lives what she teaches. Armstrong is author of the now out of print Wild Plants Cookbook. Her nature photographs are available as stunningly beautiful notecards, and her line drawings of native grasses are available as a set of six notecards. Media: Photography. Line drawings.

Armstrong is know by many for far more than her art. The
natural landscaping movement in Illinois owes her a great debt for
her use of native prairie as her back yard. Armstrong is an
unrivaled nature photographer, talented at capturing both fauna and
flora of every area she visits. Armstrong's botanically
accurate line drawings of plants are also quite lovely as works of
aesthetic art.
