Linda Spicer

A high school art scholarship is where Spicer's artistic career began, with continued and pushing of the limits of fiber arts. For example, her crocheting has lead to such things as crocheted twine baskets and tiny crocheted figures and functional crocheted bud vases. Folk art painting and specialty sewing are other of Spicer's pursuits.

Statement: Art can take any form and be expressed in any media and Spicer pushes the limits, using media in ever more creative ways, often incorporating whimsy and humor in her art. Spicer thinks the rest of us take our art and our selves way too seriously, yet she keeps challenging each of us to try new things and grow as artists.
