James Simak

Jim Simak, photographer for over twenty five years, has exhibited in hundreds of fine arts shows and received numerous "firsts" and "best of shows". His works have been published in conservation and nature publications as well. Much of his work focuses on the texture, color, shape, and delicate perfection that the realm of Nature produces. He is a naturalist and conservationist by interest and concern.

Statement: Simak states: "I tend to view the degree of beauty and perfection found in nature to be proportionate to the life span of many of it's elements.......the more short-lived, the more beautiful......as if to compensate for their brief stay." Capturing beauty in detail and in a moment of time that will never occur again in the changing world of light, natural scenery, and aging structures, Simak's art does what photography does best!
